“Water sharpens stone”: a metaphor for the insistence on unity

We often get the opinion from our readers that we shouldn’t call for unity and good relations because it doesn’t make things better. Nevertheless, we continue. What else is there to do?

We cannot despair because every day we see more evil – the human ego that wants to enjoy itself at the expense of others. And the more the ego grows without applying the intention to love, give and connect positively, the more all of humanity suffers from it.

You might argue that if the ego keeps growing, then we should just let it grow and leave this generation alone. After all, it seems that the more we call for unity, the worse it (the current generation) gets. But that’s no reason to drop everything and walk away.

Maybe we shouldn’t make assessments about whether the world is going to get better or worse? We just know that we must continue to spread the teachings of the laws of nature and the need for positive human connections. And we don’t see the possibility of becoming disillusioned and walking away from this work.

Yes, when people’s ears and hearts are closed to the message of unity, any attempt to spread such a message dissolves like water in sand.

However, everything has a history, a beginning and an end, and so there is hope that there will be an end to this period of accumulation of suffering in which humanity now finds itself.

There is a saying, “water sharpens stone”, drop by drop is how it works. We just have to go on and do it in defiance of the human mind that complains and claims that such efforts are fruitless.

  1. The struggle for power is covered up with various ideas, this is especially evident when the common house is on fire, and people add fuel to the fire.
