Time of responsibility

Let’s face it, we are selfish. We don’t love each other, and worse, we think there’s nothing wrong with that. We begin to measure our attitudes toward others from scratch. That is, the feeling of indifference to others is our starting point, our zero, and from here we begin to judge: if I have some affection for another person, that is considered good. If I don’t like a person, it’s considered bad.

The world has entered a new phase of its development. The system we all make up is so integral that we can no longer remain neutral. Anything we do that doesn’t help all people hurts them-and therefore hurts us.

Selfishness has brought us to this life, and the more we continue to adhere to it, the more we accelerate the general decline. This is true not only on the social level, where human relationships are obviously the key factor, but also applies to all spheres. From pandemics to climate change, our negative attitudes toward each other are the cause of all misfortunes. It’s time we realized that through our selfish, narcissistic attitude toward others, we are leading the world in a downward spiral. But now we must become responsible and behave accordingly.

In addition, the time between our mistakes and their consequences is reduced. We have always been dependent on each other; we have always influenced each other by our positive or negative thoughts and actions. These days this interdependence is becoming evident. There’s absolutely no getting away from it. This is why it is crucial that we become considerate, kind, and caring toward one another, as each of us affects all of us in everything we do.

This may be unpleasant news, but it is nowhere near as unpleasant as the consequences of our refusal to accept reality. +50°C in British Columbia and floods in Western Europe are just a prelude. If we don’t act, the future will be much worse.

We don’t write about this to scare people. We want to bring this to everyone’s attention, because humanity – us! – There is still time to prevent cataclysms. The more we think and talk about it, the easier it will be for us to reverse the trajectory of the accident.

Natural and man-made disasters around the world can indeed seem irreversible. But we must remember that, apart from us, everything in nature is in perfect harmony. Where there is harmony, there is balance, there are no such disasters as we saw this summer. The only place where there is no harmony or balance is among us, in human society. In other words, the cataclysms we observe simply reflect the upheaval going on among us. If we restore harmony between us, the only element that exists out of balance will restore stability, and the storm will subside.

That’s why people should work so hard to foster kindness and concern for one another. Since we are all selfish, a neutral stance gives advantage to negative forces, which are then reflected in all levels of existence. To balance out people’s inherent negative attitudes, we must create an equally powerful positive attitude. This is something we can only do if we all come together and decide to establish love, kindness and caring where there is now hatred, selfishness and resentment.
